UAE midday break for outdoor workers begins June 15
Work under direct sunlight will be banned between 12.30pm and 3pm through mid-September, with shade, water and first-aid required on site.
Work under direct sunlight and in open areas will be banned across the UAE between 12.30pm and 3pm from June 15 to September 15, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has confirmed.
Some essential works are exempt, but employers must provide shade, cooling equipment, drinking water and first-aid facilities on site. The annual rule is enforced under the country's Occupational Heat Stress Prevention Policy.
