Sheikh Mohammed establishes Dubai Longevity Authority to lead global life sciences push
Law No. 17 of 2026 creates a new health body chaired by Sheikh Hamdan, positioning Dubai as a hub for biotechnology, advanced wellness and longevity research.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has issued Law No. 17 of 2026 establishing the Dubai Longevity Authority — a new entity tasked with positioning the emirate at the forefront of the global life sciences and biotechnology economy.
Chaired by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the authority will regulate the advanced health, wellness and longevity sector and coordinate with federal and local partners on a unified strategy for healthy ageing.
Officials say the body will license operators, set quality standards for longevity clinics and attract international research investment, building on Dubai's growing reputation as a destination for precision medicine and clinical innovation.
The law forms part of a broader agenda to diversify Dubai's economy into knowledge-intensive sectors and reinforce the city's standing as a regional hub for healthcare tourism.
