UAE confirms Islamic New Year holiday on Monday, June 15
Dubai government employees, federal entities and private sector workers will observe the Hijri New Year with a one-day public holiday.
The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) has confirmed that Monday, June 15, 2026 will be an official paid holiday for Dubai government entities to mark the Islamic New Year.
The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources earlier announced the same date as a public holiday for federal employees and the private sector across the country.
The Hijri New Year marks the beginning of the Islamic lunar calendar and is observed with a single day off across the UAE.
